Good day, Evening , what ever time it is that you are reading out newsletter, as mentioned prior to now we are in for a busy time , and most needed to be dealt with in varying degrees, at this meeting, and so lets move on to the goings on.

BBQ tea started the night, THANKS TO THE Ladies and gents responsible,  and then we started the business of the evening.

The Cambodian TourJan 2015,  was discussed, the importance of this discussion centred on the issue of  the other Clubs in our group, becoming active partners  in the program.  We still  waiting all though all Clubs have been notified..  Contact with the gentleman from Samaritans Purse   Has been made and we are clear for the 15 of January to the 25 next year 2015. The cost is $3500 inclusive, other than spending money,   with a minimum of 14 , maximum of 20, with 1 adult for every 7 Youngsters..  We will be flying by Singapore Airlines, and we will be looking at 300 to 500 Shoe boxes. So we have advanced rather well.

Speaking of the tour  we have a public thank you from the students, to those who supported the  concept, financially and physically to Vietnam in January this year.  This is to happen on 2 May atthe foyer of the entertainment centre Stawell,  for any further information please refer to PP John L

7.00 for 7.30 PM with a tea and bickies after

ANZAC Day 25 Apl 14, is to be celebrated by the laying of a wreath at the Cenotaph. At the 11.00 AM service. Pres Kim will be looking after this , while it is a good thing as we have not been involved for many years,  so if it is possible  please support the service at 11 AM.

Next week  the 29th is the last group 7 meeting for this Rotary year, and also the last of these meetings for PDG Ted who as you may know started these Meetings in  2005-6 when AG of the group.  The meeting will be held at the Goldfields restaurant  6.30 for 7.00PM. and we are looking for a largish crowd.  Cost $25.00 per head. We have almost a full team from Stawell

Further discussion on matters such as the Halls Gap BBQ, it was very quiet and unproductive unfortunately, in a series of events out of our control, that we could not have had the art shown at the hall anyway as with parts of the side wall missing and  security of the works could not be confirmed.  The real issue here is that we were not informed re the cancellation of sponsorship problems until 10 days prior, and only 4 days before, about the non existent side wall of the Hall. Seems that a gross lack of communication by the Shire Paper shufflers  and the Hall Management  both apparently ignorant of the impact  that the information they had, and not passed on, would have had a dramatic  effect on the Art show/ BBQ. There are as yet no Figures on the BBQ.

Assembly is coming up very rapidly on the 4th May and the set up etc. was spoken about. In advance we would like to thank the members for volunteering their time to come along and set up.

15 May we have a evening with the Rotary 4 wheel drive and caravan fellowship in Halls Gap. Please refer to PP John Artz, for any further details..  we to organize a raffle for the evening,  Aswe  will be at the Halls Gap venue for the evening, of the 15th, there will be no ordinary meeting on the 13th May

Report on the anniversary evening  one or two items mentioned by PP Pauline, a couple of Bongs in particular, but we are assured that they are for decoration only. Decisions were also made re those people invited who are not expected to pay.

Change over requirements   PE Vaughan has been beavering away and has decided for the change over to be at the Stawell Golf club, same time as usual, $20.00per head, and the Mayor shall be in attendance.

Changes are to be made in  regard to the Club payments to RI  this information is new so we don’t know to much just yet, but it is to come into being by 1 January 2015.  More to follow on this, information

H M Brian is all set up and ready to go with the Bowel scan kits  to go on sale Thursday 1 May 2014, so we keep our fingers crossed that very few positive tests are returned.

And end of year reports to be with the Secretary on or before 9 June 2014, and so we don’t want to frighten the members so we wont go any further.,  We had a short intermission in the middle for a cuppa, but thanks to Pres Kim we finished 3 Minutes early,

Please also remember that week after next is 6 May and is our next Board meeting, as it can be seen we will not have to much time to even scratch our selves, so  please get your monthly reports in ASAP, any time from now would be good.

Well, that’s about all for this week there seemed to be more on the agenda, but as said we finished early.

Have a great week in Rotary, and Remember, The money saved for a rainy day, now only buys a small umbrella.   Cheers   Ed.
