What a great little place to live and work! if you haven’t been to Stawell yet, what’s keeping you? You will have one of the best views of the Grampians, from our main Street. This is an amazing little Town with great facilities that many bigger towns would be happy to have, such as state of the art Community Centre, that caters for every one from medical rooms, to a café. There are lifts to the upper floors for physiotherapy and many other services,  in the same precinct, the Skene Street Special School, for challenged youngsters, being the absolute latest thing for these children any-where in the state. Hospital, aged care and nursing home facilities, library, 5 schools from primary to secondary college level, an industrial complex, one of the more profitable gold mines in the state. With a bus service around the town, taxi’s, we even have part of our rail service back. We also have that iconic event that fills the town of an Easter, The Stawell Gift. There are reminders of our past with some old wonderful buildings, and great views, and fresh air Stawell is located on the Western Highway, approximately 3 hours from Melbourne, 29 k’s from Ararat and 25 k’s from Halls Gap, we are these days largely a farming community, sheep and cropping the major outlets. We have many motels and three hotels and a variety of restaurants. Its all here in Stawell, and of course we have our service clubs, including Rotary Stawell Inc.

Our Town Hall attracts many visitors,  particularly when the clock strikes 12 noon, but we can’t tell you about that, you will just  have to come and see for your self.
